'Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)', a cover of the Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel track, is the follow up to 'Solsbury Hill' - which went straight into the UK Charts at Number Ten on its release in January 2003.'Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)' is the second single to be taken from the Top 20 Album "Other People's Songs" - a collection of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke's versions of some of their favourite songs. The album includes a diverse selection of tracks originally made famous by the likes of Elvis Presley, The Righteous Brothers, Buggles, Buddy Holly and The Korgis and is out now on Mute.
The single will be available on two CDs and a DVD. CD1 comes backed by an exclusive acoustic version of Erasure's 1986 hit 'Oh L'Amour' plus the 37b remix of 'Walking In The Rain'. CD2 has the Dan Frampton Radio Mix of 'Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)' plus an Extended Mix of the single from Manhattan Clique - who recently supported Erasure on their sold out UK tour. The final track is 37b's mix of 'When Will I See You Again'.
The DVD release of the single has the single, an exclusive acoustic version of the Elvis Presley classic, 'Can't Help Falling In Love' plus the 'Solsbury Hill' video, directed by Vince Clarke.
The video for the single, directed by Jonas Odell, will be a mix of animation and live action and is made by Nexus, the company responsible for the opening credits on the recent Spielberg film, Catch Me If You Can.
