The genuinely classic and highly influential eponymous first LP by Suicide was re-released on 9th March 1998 by Blast First. It came in a special format with a hand-screened limited edition cover and includes a second CD of two live performances from 1978. The Blast First re-issue of 'Suicide' is newly re-mastered. The album originally appeared in the UK in 1977 on the Red Star label run by Marty Thau (former manager of The New York Dolls).
The second CD in this special re-issue features a previously unreleased classic live show from CBGB's from May 1978. The other live performance comes from the Brussels show on their European tour of that summer where they supported Elvis Costello and The Clash. Suicide's minimalistic drones and menacing vocals did not always meet with the approval of British and European punk audiences - the Brussels show culminating in a full scale riot. A recording of this makes up the second live sequence on the CD, previously only available as a 1000 copy edition flexi-disc promo on Bronze Records in 1980 under the title '23 Minutes Over Brussels'.
