Hot on the heels of the Luftwaffe straifing techno of ‘Stuka Stunt’ comes the absolutely massive acid-throbber that is ‘Sweatbox’. Fitting somewhere between the dark industrial intensity of early Plastikman and hypnotic drum attack of Alter Ego’s current techno assault, ‘Sweatbox’ is most certainly destined for big things this summer. With a few TPs already being caned by Timo Maas, Miss Kittin, DJ Hell, Sven Vath, Roman Fluegel, Chris Liebing and Speedy J, MOTOR will be rocking a dancefloor near you soon… MOTOR is Mr. No and Bryan Black and ‘Sweatbox / Yak’ is the pair’s third single release under their Motor guise. MOTOR is totally un-compromised music that deliberately breaks any musical restrictions or sound barriers. Electronic music practising a punk ethnic, MOTOR is unlike anything else: abrasive, strangely melodic, pulsing like a machine. A sound, which by no mistake, has put them in a class of their own.
The MOTOR duo are also known for their work under the alias “XLOVER” who have an album, ‘Pleasure & Romance’, coming up this July on Hell’s esteemed Gigolo Records and their multiple collaborations with Felix Da Housecat included co-writing tracks off his latest LP “Devin Dazzle & The Neon Fever”.
This third single sees MOTOR in confident, practically triumphant mood. ‘Sweatbox’ is hands down a monster record, with a crescendo drum avalanche that will be rocking the tiniest ‘sweatboxes’ to festival dance tents all over the globe this summer. ‘Yak’ is a similarly dark track that takes on a funkier, psychotic groove riff with dark twisted, drug-fuelled voices spraying over the tracks infectious bassline. “Hey man, have you got any gak?” MOTOR are back behind the wheel.
